my... other... near death experience...
So when I first got my license I was really skittish about driving at night by myself. I was always really paranoid that there was someone in my back seat. I have since gotten over this fear.
This one time I was driving to seminary, which started at 5:45 in the morning, and I needed to go pick up this girl named Emily. For those of you know don't know Emily, she is very petite... she might have weighed 100 pounds and she was about 5'6. I was on my way to pick her up when I saw a shadow in my back seat. It was still dark outside and I couldn't figure out what had cast the shadow, so I started panicking... a lot...
When I got to Emily's house I opened the door to try to get out and check out the back seat, but the shoulder belt was moving so slow and I couldn't get out! I ended up pawing my way through the seat belt and I fell out of the car. At this point I'm certain someone is in my car- so I slowly get up and turn to see who it is... there's on one in my back seat, but they had plenty of time to get out while I'm struggling to get out of the car.... then someone TAPS MY BACK!!! dun dun dun..... I screamed and turned around it's EMILY!!!! then I panic some more and faint....
Yep.... I fainted at the sight of at 100 pound girl... by the way- if your curious, the shadow was cast by a stop sign...

my near death experience
Today I had to go into work to get my work schedule and when I got home I sat in my car for a second to look through it and plan out my week. I eventually got out of the car and went up to my house- I should tell you that I was the only one home... that's kind of an important point in the story...
So I was on the phone with Bridget and I suddenly heard this really loud sound coming from my basement and the floors kind of shook a little bit. I told her it sounded like something exploded in my basement. I was hoping the sound came from outside so I looked out the window and saw an extension cord going around my house.I was a bit confused, and I went outside (the front door) to follow the cord and found it going around my house (I still don't know what the cord is doing there). As I was following the cord I came upon something that caused me to panic -- THE BACK DOOR WAS OPEN!!!
Okay- so at this point I've gone beyond panicking and tell Bridget that I have to go! I went over to my landlords house and his wife opens the door. She asks me what's wrong, and I tell her, "there's someone in my house!" She started to laugh and said that her husband is over there fixing a leak we have in our pipes. She said he knocked a few times, but no one was home so he let himself in to fix it.
I nearly had a heart attack... he scared me so much!

catering
So last semester when I started school up the restaurant cut my hours almost in half because my availability was so bad. Then I dropped out though, so I got all my hours back and I was fine. This semester when I went back I figured the restaurant would cut my hours again, so I was proactive in the matter and got a second job with the university. Turns out though by taking a semester and working only I made myself into a bit of a staple waitress and when I went back to school my hours weren't cut at all, so now I find myself working 40-50 hours (at least) a week at the restaurant, going to school full time, and then working for catering when the schedule me, normally about 8 hours a week at about 6 am... pretty overwhelming. The only reason I hadn't quit the second job was because I felt so bad about it- my boss is really nice, totally willing to work with your schedule, and I really hadn't worked there very long.
Yeah- I got over all that. I gave my two weeks notice today. The work load is killing me! Last Thursday I worked a straight 13 hours! On Friday I worked at 6am for catering, worked until class at 11, went to class, got home about 12 and died on my couch. I didn't wake up until about 5:30 when my boss from the restaurant called me to ask me if I was okay b/c I was 30 mins late to work... I went in and everything was fine. It was then that I decided the $50 I make at catering a month reeeaaallly isn't worth it....

Last friday I went out to eat with my old roommate. I actually already wrote about part of the day, we went out to eat right after she told me I looked dead. I haven't been working a lot lately, so I was kind of reluctant to go out, but she really wanted to go and offered to pay for me so I went. I'm really not one to turn down free food...
First we sit down, the waiter comes over and asks us what we'd like to drink. I was about to say that I just wanted water, when my old roommate says that we'd like two waters and two shirley temples. He says okay, walks away and she turns to me and says "hope you like shirley temples!" just fyi- I don't.... sprite is the drink I drink when I'm sick, so when I'm healthy I don't really like it... then she turns to me and says "what appetizer do you want?" I told her I was fine without one, but she insists that I either pick option A or option B. I say okay... uh... option B. The waiter comes back with our drinks, and she orders option A. I was fine with either, but I still thought it was strange... At this point I'm beginning to wonder if I'll be allowed to even my own food, so when the waiter asked what we wanted I wasn't sure if I should talk... I did order what I actually wanted, my old roommate ordered her second choice because they didn't have her favorite thing anymore (and they hadn't for at least 2 years) and she starts to pout because we went to this restaurant when they didn't even have anything that she liked. I should point out that when she asked me where I wanted to go I said "I don't care- you can pick. I'm not at all picky. I have no preference. Where ever you want to go (et cetra)." Anyways- the food comes out and the waiter says something along the lines of "looks like you need more bread sticks, I'll be right back" My old roommate thinks that the waiter just called us pigs for finishing off the first thing of bread sticks. He brings us more, and she gets progressively meaner to him- he hasn't actually done anything wrong though, so I'm getting more uncomfortable because I feel bad for him. The rest of the meal passes by, my old roommate decides to eat some of my food. At this point I decide to just let her- she paid for it, so I'm not out anything... it's just not really a social norm... and it's annoying, but whatever- let her do it.... The waiter came over, tried to talk us up a bit hoping to save his tip (mind you- if ANYONE ELSE had paid he wouldn't have had anything to worry about) dropped off the check- we paid and left. When we got outside my old roommate told me that she thought our waiter was really weird and she didn't tip him very good. An extremely good tip for this girl is about 15% so her saying she didn't tip well means she left about 5% or less. I was pretty pissed.
We got into the car and she starts out by saying "you know where else they have bad service? the armadillo! Yeah I'm never eating there again!!" I asked her what happened there, and basically she said they potion sizes were to small and they were overpriced. She said that she and her mom had eaten there and they ended up yelling at the waitress and they wouldn't even give her a discount on the food. So basically- you yelled at the peon of the company for something corporate controls. Pretty much you just killed the messenger... also you're going to stop eating in your favorite restaurant because one night you had a 'bad' experience? She then *tried to* forbid me from eating there again...
...I never really eat there anyways, but maybe I'll start.

wtf?
The last couple of weeks people have been saying things to me... things that I have to just wonder why anyone would say such things to anyone... just mean things to say. Today it happened again- I was just caught so totally off guard.
I do my make-up the same pretty much everyday. I don't wear a LOT of make-up, but enough that you can tell I have eyeshadow on... on my face I really don't wear much at all, so my skin is pretty much natural... just a little evened out a bit. So today I walked into the institute, say hi to my old roommate and her response? "your makeup makes you look dead. Your eyes are too dark. You have bags and dark circles. Your skin looks way to light- makes you look like a corpse."
What?? I was caught so off guard... what do you even say to that? I really didn't respond... I didn't know how... After standing there dumb-struck for a second she went on to say that my shirt (which is yellow) makes me look jaundiced...
So then, a couple of weeks ago I asked a guy at work if he'd like dessert (by the by- I'm a waitress). He said no because he didn't want to get as fat as I am. He was totally serious... I asked... there was no joking...
Again-- WHAT?? are people confusing me with someone else? Maybe someone who has an extraordinary amount of self esteem and can handle remarks like that? I don't think anyone CAN handle remarks like that!!
Seriously- if I'm ever making a joke about how hot I look it's at a time when I am SO OBVIOUSLY joking! Like me saying I look hot in my bridesmaid dress for an upcoming wedding I'm in- I am being so sarcastic! I don't think anyone would look good in that dress! Anyone who has seen pictures can second that.... it's just not pretty...
By the way- I spoke to my current roommate and she says I don't look dead. I realize I'm pale, but dead? REALLY???

first post?
So I made this because I kind of felt like writing a few thoughts, but in making it, I forgot which thoughts I was going to write... hence this may be the most random/ long post ever. That being said, it may also be the only post ever... so it evens out!
So I've been sick the past couple of weeks and I'm just barely getting to a point where my breathing scores reflect how healthy I feel. I've felt fine for the past few days, but just barely today I'm actually really breathing well. I bring this up because today is the first day I've really done anything. Today I went to the bank. I realize this doesn't sound like the most exciting outing, but it really was. Before I went to the bank I had to have a reason to go, right? so I had to go get my pay-check.
I have 2 jobs. One of them pays fine, and I'd probably be totally fine with only this job, but I still took the other one thinking a bit of extra money would be nice. Today I re-evaluated that. I've worked there for about a month now. I don't work many hours, but I still was working enough to make it worth it (or so I thought). For an entire month my paycheck was only $50. Totally not worth it... I'll probably quit.
so that wasn't too long... I probably have more to say, but I have class tomorrow so I won't say it all now.
